Home Awards 2009/10 Nominees
ECO Media News Awards Nominees

Since our ground-breaking highlighting of UK-based artists during our role in the revival of Miss Uganda UK, our UK-based artists are working even more tirelessly to catch up with their counterparts back home, we feel that the artists below have been quite exemplary in promoting their careers. This is not in terms of churning out more material than others, but through self-promotion. We have also given a brief analysis of the artists' career during the year gone-by. The objective of our ECO Media News Awards is to 'Inspire Excellence' in our entertainers.

Best Artist:
1. Beatrice Byakika:
The soulful singer operates stealthily but has made great effort in bringing her music 'home'.

2. Da Boys (MC Paddy Dee & Rasta Soki):
The club MC and former footballer stormed the music scene and became an attraction due to their energetic performances. They went on to make a few collaborations along the way.

3. Kuklee:
The mellow-voiced singer went as far as attempting an official album launch at Boomerang, a.k.a Live and Let Live, in Forest Gate. He is one artist that has recorded some material with almost every artist.

4. MC Moseh:
He has managed to shed his karaoke singer identity to become one of the most successful UK-based Ugandan recording artists yet; going as far as trying to mobilise fellow artists for music events.

5. Myco Chris:
He has transformed from a gospel, copyright singer to become an exemplary singer/songwriter/producer. He is one of the few artists who have been headline acts at major events.

Best Song:
1. Ani Akubuzabuza; Sam Waiswa
2. Empisa Zo; Press
3.Nalulungi; MC Moseh Ft Kuklee
4. One Love; Ganda Boys a.k.a Da Twinz
5. Sirikusula; Myco Chris

The notion of awards is a reminder to mainstream and aspiring artists to work hard. Thumbs up to Club Valentino‘s, Tottenham, for providing a platform to established artists!
Peace n Love

Its really good to see talented artists such as myco and kuklee recognised, they hav been at this game for so long. I wish them all the best and have much love for the other artists nominated. What saddens me is the bitterness other artists are creating because of the nominations.Especially 1 with the intial G, We preach of love and harmony in our country, but when our brothers are nominated instead of being proud for them we feel jealous and attack organisers. There is room for everyone, except hate. Take this as a challenge, raise your game. Lift your head up and know that next time you will be among the names. For everyone else lets get voting and be proud that we have people from our land who provide us with the flavour of ugandan music in uk. Peace
