Since our ground-breaking highlighting of UK-based artists during our role in the revival of Miss Uganda UK, our UK-based artists are working even more tirelessly to catch up with their counterparts back home, we feel that the artists below have been quite exemplary in promoting their careers. This is not in terms of churning out more material than others, but through self-promotion. We have also given a brief analysis of the artists' career during the year gone-by. The objective of our ECO Media News Awards is to 'Inspire Excellence' in our entertainers.
Best Artist: 1. Beatrice Byakika:
The soulful singer operates stealthily but has made great effort in bringing her music 'home'.
2. Da Boys (MC Paddy Dee & Rasta Soki):
The club MC and former footballer stormed the music scene and became an attraction due to their energetic performances. They went on to make a few collaborations along the way.
3. Kuklee:
The mellow-voiced singer went as far as attempting an official album launch at Boomerang, a.k.a Live and Let Live, in Forest Gate. He is one artist that has recorded some material with almost every artist.
4. MC Moseh:
He has managed to shed his karaoke singer identity to become one of the most successful UK-based Ugandan recording artists yet; going as far as trying to mobilise fellow artists for music events.
5. Myco Chris:
He has transformed from a gospel, copyright singer to become an exemplary singer/songwriter/producer. He is one of the few artists who have been headline acts at major events.
